Ashworth Hospital is one of three High Security Hospitals in England responsible for the management and operation of high security psychiatric services and is committed to the continued development of services and their integration with mainstream mental health services.

Applications are invited for a full time Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist post.

You will have a half caseload of 20 +/- 2 patients based at Ashworth Hospital.

The nature of this post calls for enthusiasm and developed clinical leadership.  MRCPsych, or equivalent, is essential as is appropriate training and experience in forensic psychiatry.

You must have full registration with the General Medical Council, hold a certificate of Specialist Register (CCT in Forensic Psychiatry) within six months and you should have or should work towards achieving AC status as well as Section 12(2) approval.
