Our Emergency Department is seeking to increase its consultant establishment by engaging highly motivated and progressive individuals to join a stable and very experienced team of consultants. The candidates should share the vision of the present team; to remain at the top in a continuous cycle of innovation, knowledge-sharing and improvement. In fact, the cornerstone of our success has been our strong commitment to patient and customer satisfaction, clinical excellence, risk management, and physician leadership.

We recognise that in today's competitive environment, a patient's perception of the care received is important to the success of the hospital. This strategy includes strengthening or eliminating "seams" in the site's service program by establishing a solid culture, unswerving standards, thorough training, accurate data measurement, and clear accountability.

These posts are to maintain Emergency Department medical cover of consultants', Associate Specialists, Specialist Registrars, SAS Doctors, Junior Doctors, Emergency Care Practitioners/Advanced Care Practitioner and Physician Associates. We are looking to appoint consultants who are committed to our vision of continuously striving to improve the quality of care through development and innovation of services.

The Emergency Department at Russell’s Hall Hospital sees approximately 100,000 new patients per year. We deliver a full undergraduate teaching programme as part of Birmingham Medical School and it is expected that appointees will participate in both Postgraduate and Undergraduate education programmes.

Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC and have completed ATLS, EPLS or APLS, ALS and be on the GMC Specialist Register and preferably demonstrated departmental management and leadership skills in an Emergency Department in the UK.
