Consultant Medical salary (£76,761 - £103,490 per annum) or
Agenda for Change Band 8D (£70,206 - £85,333)

Here in Greater Manchester (GM) we are on a journey of transformation – in February 2015 the 37 NHS organisations and local authorities in GM signed a landmark devolution agreement with the government to take charge of health and social care spending and decisions in the region.

Our goal is to bring the greatest and fastest improvement to the health and
well-being of our 2.8 million people. In order to achieve this we know we need a radical change in how we build resilience in people and communities, as well as providing safe consistent and affordable health and social care and taking action across broader public services and regenerating the economy.

We are now seeking to appoint a self-motivated and innovative individual to a key role for Public Health England (PHE) and GM based in the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership (GMHSCP): the role of Consultant in Public Health with a particular focus on some of the wider determinants of health, particularly air pollution and spatial planning. This post will provide support across our partnership including support to Transport for Greater Manchester and the GM Mayor in taking these agendas forward.

This post is suitable for both Consultant Medical and Non-Medical Agenda for Change band 8D appointment and will be part of the leadership team for the Commissioning and Population Health Directorate within GMHSCP, and support the Executive Director and Deputy Director of Population Health
and Commissioning in their work on active travel, planning for health improvement and air quality.

The post will be based at Piccadilly Place in central Manchester with the requirement for travel across GM and regionally and nationally as relevant
to the post.

Applicants should review the job description for the post prior to completing their application. When completing their application form candidates should demonstrate how they meet the essential requirements of the role.

Prospective candidates are invited to contact: Jane Pilkington, Deputy Director for Population Health, GMHSCP on 0113 825 3089.

Interview date: 11 October 2018.
