Job Details
As a GP working in the Front of House facility at Prince Phillip Hospital, the post holder will provide rapid and high quality clinical assessment and diagnosis for patients and make timely decisions regarding future management. They will work alongside ANP's, ENP's and foundation doctors within the department in their clinical roles and also provide support to other healthcare staff, patients and carers as well as having an active involvement in Clinical Governance/Effectiveness activities. The scope of practice will include the management of minor illness, minor injuries and agreed pathways for selected medical emergencies. The high standards expected will be achieved through working as part of a Multidisciplinary Team within the department [including Mental Health, Frailty Clinic and Drug and Alcohol
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be expected to undertake the normal duties and responsibilities associated with being a GP within Primary Care, with additional skills relating to minor injury as outlined below. These duties are in line with best clinical practice including standards and guidelines set out by the Royal College of General Practitioners.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice and entry on the GP Register
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice / Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR), or equivalent
- MRCGP
- Hold current medical indemnity from recognized medical defence organisation
- Evidence of continuous professional development
Experience
Essential
- Experience of minor injuries/working in A& E setting
Desirable
- Special interest in minor injuries/experience of A& E, trauma and orthopaedics and familiar with interpreting X-rays and ECGs
- Use of Welsh Clinical Portal
Skills Knowledge Ability

- Proven ability to handle a busy and varied primary care caseload and respond flexibly to workload fluctuations
- Ability to take independent clinical decisions when necessary and to seek advice from senior doctors as appropriate
