Opportunity:
The Department of Oncology, Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services, Community Oncology in conjunction with University of Alberta invite applications for a full-time Medical Oncologist position at the Grande Prairie Cancer Centre (GPCC) in Grande Prairie, Alberta to start as soon as possible.
The successful applicant will become a member of a multidisciplinary cancer program located at the Grande Prairie Cancer Centre (GPCC) site in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and will join a team of Medical and Radiation Oncologists, Nurse Practitioners and medical support staff working in the North Zone.
Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services provides strong mentorship and professional development support and promotes active academic collaboration between the colleagues in the regional and tertiary Oncology sites in Alberta. Cancer Care Alberta is currently working on a clinical trial program initiative in the Community Oncology, and the successful candidate will have an exciting opportunity to contribute to the clinical trial program development.

Cancer Care Alberta (CCA) provides a comprehensive and coordinated system of care to meet the needs of Albertans, including the operation of 17 cancer care facilities across the province. Tertiary level care is provided in Edmonton and Calgary, and there are regional cancer centres with radiotherapy services in Lethbridge, Red Deer, Medicine Hat and Grande Prairie.
The Grande Prairie Cancer Centre is a new building located within the new Grande Prairie Regional Hospital which opened in 2021. The GPCC is one of four Regional Cancer Centres within Cancer Care Alberta’s Community Oncology portfolio. Serving Northern Alberta and Northeastern British Columbia, cancer care practice at the GPCC is centered on seven major tumor groups, with rarer tumors managed in conjunction with consultation and expertise from the tertiary centers in Edmonton and Calgary.
