Job Details
Applications are invited for Consultant Respiratory Physicians to join our existing Respiratory Consultants and two Specialist Doctors. We are keen to appoint more enthusiastic, dynamic, and motivated consultants to our forward-thinking team that prides itself on providing high quality respiratory care across a comprehensive range of respiratory services.
The Trust's recruitment premium means that individuals choosing to come and work at MCHFT in this role will benefit from an additional £31,651 pro rata on appointment, in addition to their basic salary. This premium is in addition to relocation packages of up to £8,000 being offered by the Trust to you when you join. This payment is non-pensionable and there is a decreasing repayment schedule if you leave within four years.
The proposed AAC date is 4th November 2024.
Main duties of the job
It is expected that the post holder will contribute to the leadership, delivery, and development of our future Respiratory services at Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust (MCHFT) as well as the exciting New Hospital Program that is in development at the current Leighton Hospital site.
There is an opportunity to develop, progress and deliver sub-specialty services for Respiratory Medicine in all these areas:
Respiratory Physician specialising in Pulmonary Oncology
Interstitial Lung Disease
Sleep and Ventilation
Tuberculosis and Complex infections
Severe Asthma and Airways Disease
The Specialty of Respiratory Medicine currently includes a 32 bedded inpatient ward which delivers Acute Non-invasive Ventilation and specialist Respiratory Care. MCHFT has plans to develop a Respiratory Enhanced Care Unit soon.

- Full GMC Registration
- MB ChB/MBBS or equivalent
- MRCP
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) CESR or European Community Rights

Experience

- Extensive experience in Acute / Respiratory Medicine including bronchoscopy and the ability to undertake endobronchial biopsies

- Trained in thoracic ultrasound to level 2 standard
- Experience of running a respiratory sleep service
