Job Description
The Saskatchewan Health Authority in Canada, is looking for Psychiatrists, in the community of North Battleford, with a specific interest in forensic work as well as care and treatment of long-term rehabilitation patients.
The Saskatchewan Hospital is a 284 bed Psychiatric Facility which includes a 96-bed secure unit that provides support for offenders living with mental health issues.
This is an innovative approach for delivering mental health care and supports to two separate groups of people with significant psychiatric rehabilitation needs. There is no out-patient component to this position. On-call duties are shared with the Psychiatrists of the Battlefords Mental Health Centre.

Relocation Package

Job Qualifications
- Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS)
- Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is required A valid drivers license Minimum of 3 acceptable references An acceptable criminal record check with vulnerable sector search Experience providing Generalist and/or Forensic Psychiatry services within a catchment model Demonstrable evidence in multidisciplinary approach of care/management Understanding of Saskatchewan provincial laws and regulations of commitment and release of the mentally ill under the Mental Health Services Act would be an asset. In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
