ISLE OF COLL

MEDICAL PRACTICE VACANCY

Applications are invited to provide primary medical services under a General Medical Services Contract and Out of Hours services for approximately 176 patients on the Isle of Coll, Argyll & Bute.

This is an excellent opportunity to improve health outcomes. NHS Highland would welcome applications from interested parties that will deliver high-quality primary medical services responsive to the needs of the island's patients. In addition to delivering essential services, the successful provider will be expected to offer a range of additional and enhanced services and will also provide out-of-hours services under a separate Service Level Agreement.

The Isle of Coll, a hidden gem in the Hebrides, features stunning landscapes and serene beaches. It's known for its unspoiled beauty, wildlife sightings, and a Dark Sky Community designation for exceptional stargazing. The island offers charming villages, a close-knit community, a rich history, and various accommodations like bed and breakfasts and self-catering cottages. Amenities include an award-winning hotel, a well-stocked store, and a café with homemade meals. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy walking and cycling paths, pristine beaches, and birdwatching at the RSPB reserve, while a community centre hosts local events and gatherings.

All applicants must meet the criteria of section 17L of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978, as amended.

Applicants are invited to register their interest with Primary Care Manager Patricia Morrison via the Apply Button below. On receipt of this, we will supply the practice specification and request a business case for submission by 5 p.m. on Friday, 18 October 2024. Interviews are set to take place during the week of 18 November 2024, with the exact date.
