Job Details
We seek to recruit an experienced Junior Locally Employed Doctor to work within the Northern Contraception, Sexual Health & HIV Service for Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). The post available is:

The candidate must have a desire to work in the field of sexual and reproductive health, with a focus on women's health. They should have a good experience, competencies and background of this area and be prepared to work independently with the support of consultants.
It is a very exciting time to work in Greater Manchester. There are huge opportunities particularly around menopause care and women's health hubs and there will be an opportunity to help shape service delivery.
The successful candidates will join a dynamic, forward looking and well established medical team of consultants, Specialty Doctors providing integrated sexual health and contraception services across Manchester, Salford and Trafford. The department provides services in partnership the local authority, voluntary sector organisations and other agencies that provide health and social care to meet the sexual and reproductive health needs of our local communities.
Main duties of the job
- Work closely within an integrated, multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and other staff.
- Provide consultations for patients attending the clinic for management of contraception needs and related care.
- Provide consultations for patients attending the clinic for the diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections and related conditions.
- Participate in the evaluation, strategy and development of women's health hubs in Greater Manchester.
- Provide patients with information and support to make informed choices about their relationships and sexual health.
- Treat all patients in a sensitive and non-judgemental manner.
- Be aware of adult and children safeguarding issues and comply with the service and Trust guidelines and policies.
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision for clinical team e.g. nursing staff.
- Participate in the induction of new staff.
- Give medical advice over the telephone to incoming calls from pharmacists, doctors, practice nurses etc, as appropriate.
- Work flexibly across a variety of clinical settings and times
- Attend service, management and educational meetings as required.
- Maintain clinical practice to a high standard by attending continuing medical educational programmes as appropriate.
