Job Details
Job overview The Department of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery sits within the Digestive Diseases Care Group. The Department of Upper GI is supported by nine consultants, and its activities are spread between Castle Hill Hospital and Hull Royal Infirmary, within the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Working to support the delivery of the elective surgery service, Upper GI Surgery has a dedicated elective surgical ward at Castle Hill Hospital. In addition, the role will include participation in the on-call rota supporting the Acute Surgery service, which is located on the Hull Royal Infirmary site and is delivered through Wards 6 and 60.
The role is fixed term for 6 months in the first instance.
Main duties of the job The role will incorporate activities including acute and elective theatre delivery, outpatient clinics including New and Follow Up patients, as well as supporting Endoscopy delivery.
The role will also have a requirement to support the on-call rota.
