North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is the best place for you to grow. You will have the chance to develop your medical skills and special interest in labour ward/maternal and fetal medicine under the guidance of an inspiring team.
We are looking for forward-thinking specialists in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our inspiring and innovative team at Peterborough City Hospital. There may be a need for working across sites in the future depending on the unit needs.
All our hospitals have fully equipped obstetric, and midwifery-led birthing units, fetal medicine scanning and high-risk obstetric services in addition to high-quality modern inpatient and outpatient Gynaecology services.
You will be responsible for maintaining the highest clinical standards in the management of Obstetric patients while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team in managing Acute Obstetrics and Maternal services.
We are a Postgraduate Medical Education Centre with a reputation for teaching and training with strong links with Leicester and Cambridge.
We are committed to your well-being and personal and professional development.
Main duties of the job
The sessional commitment is 10 PAs (8.5 DCC+ 1.5 SPA) including both outpatient and theatre where additional SPAs can be considered depending on additional roles undertaken. The job plan will be reviewed on an annual basis.
You will be required to participate in on-call activities.
You will work with colleagues to provide a consultant-led service of the highest standard and to develop and maintain good working practices in the management of Obstetrics patients while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team in managing Acute Obstetrics and Maternal services.
In conjunction with the Obstetric and midwifery teams, you will help reduce the perinatal mortality rates through participation in national initiatives.
You will ensure effective clinical leadership for all staff in the service through positive collaboration with colleagues while sharing supervision, training and professional development responsibilities.
Education and learning is important to us. You will participate in the Postgraduate and Undergraduate teaching programs, and teaching/supervision of other healthcare professionals, and when possible, you will collaborate with academic and clinical colleagues to enhance the Trust's translational research/audit portfolio, at all times meeting the full requirements of Research Governance.
