Six Session GP Partner – Yelverton Surgery in West Devon

An exciting opportunity for a new Partner to join our friendly team at Yelverton Surgery has arisen due to retirement of one of our current, long serving Partners. 

Yelverton Surgery serves a semi-rural population of 7,600 within Dartmoor National Park, near the vibrant ocean city of Plymouth. We are looking to recruit someone to complement our enthusiastic and caring team.

  • Established PMS Practice.
  • High achievement in QOF year on year.
  • CQC rated “Good”.
  • Consistently high scoring in National GP Survey and within the top 50 of GP practices in England for patient satisfaction (2024).
  • Stable patient numbers due to geography in National Park.  Approximately 1700 patients per WTE GP.
  • Loyal and dedicated multi-disciplinary team committed to delivering high quality care.
  • 6 weeks annual leave and 2 weeks study leave per year, pro rata.
  • Consistently above average Partner session remuneration.
  • ix sessions: Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
  • EMIS Web practice and at forefront of migration to new EMIS X platform.  Utilising technology to benefit communication (AccuRx for patient communication & NHS Digital Cloud telephony) but focused on delivering human contact where appropriate.
  • Dispensing pharmacy to patients registered at our branch surgery (Princetown) – approximately 800 patients.
  • Established and respected training practice for GP trainees.
  • Developed medical school scheme taking Year 3 students from Plymouth Medical School on rotations.
  • Purpose built, Partner-owned premises.
  • Part of West Devon PCN with two other high achieving practices in the nearby town of Tavistock.  Engagement and utilisation of appropriate ARRS staff.
  • Active engagement within Devon LMC, Collaborative Boards and ICB.
