Job Details
We are looking for applicants to apply for the above permanent posts at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Starlight Unit based on our Wythenshawe Hospital
Candidates must be eligible for their own GMC registration - MFT cannot support GMC Sponsorship for candidates who are offered permanent vacancies.The main purpose of this role would be to provide a clinical service for the South Manchester Paediatric population , ward supervision and on call duties. You will be expected to take part in departmental audits and programmed teaching.
You should be fully registered with the General Medical Council and be able to demonstrate paediatric work within the NHS.
The post conforms to nationally agreed terms and conditions.
Please note: MFT is not a right to work sponsoring organisation for Tier 5. Should a candidate require Tier 5 sponsorship, they must apply through the Academy of Royal College via the MTI Scheme.
Main duties of the job
Wythenshawe have a single children's ward with 16 beds in total, which includes a high dependency unit and an Adolescent Unit. There is a Paediatric Observation and Assessment Unit (open 24 hours a day) with 8 beds and a Day Case Unit with 12 beds. There is an active play service and a school. In the paediatric outpatient department, clinics are held by the paediatricians and surgeons along with a number of visiting specialists to provide a full range of clinics including cardiology, neurology, epilepsy, developmental paediatrics, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, allergy, ENT and urology. A Paediatric Radiologist is also in post and undertakes weekly neonatal ultrasound sessions and regular X- ray meetings. An EEG service is provided and reported weekly by a visiting Neurologist.
