FIXED TERM SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN ANAESTHESIA (2 POSTS)
REF: CI191653
NHS Grampian is looking to recruit 2 Fixed Term Specialty Doctors in Anaesthesia. The posts provide an opportunity for candidates who wish to work on a full or part time basis. The posts will be primarily based at Aberdeen Royal infirmary and Woodend Hospital with occasional commitments at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and Royal Aberdeen Children Hospital.
Both posts are available immediately for a period of 12 months.
The posts consist of theatre sessions in General and Orthopaedic Surgery, in addition to flexible theatre sessions.
Located in the North East of Scotland, Aberdeen is an affluent, friendly and vibrant city, combining all the amenities of a large city with quick, easy access to its beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline.
Aberdeen has a large Anaesthetic department which covers a comprehensive range of clinical services and as a teaching hospital department there is strong involvement in a wide range of educational activities. There are also many opportunities to develop research interests in collaboration with the local universities. Consequently, there is excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic appointee to develop interests in a wide choice of areas. It will be possible for some aspects of the job plan to be changed on negotiation with the Unit Clinical Director.
Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post). For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org
Candidates will be expected to have a minimum of 4 years’ (full time or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis) postgraduate training, of which at least 2 years’ training must be within Anaesthesia, or shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas. Possession of the FRCA is desirable.
Enquiries should be made to: Dr Paul Bourke – Unit Clinical Director, Dr Alastair McDiarmid, Service Clinical Director on (01224) 553144.
