We are currently looking to appoint a Clinical Fellow in breast surgery at St Bartholomew's Hospital.
This post is to commence as soon as possible and will run for a period of 6 months in the first instance. At Barts Health, we provide a comprehensive range of services to patients with breast problems, both benign and malignant.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with a vibrant and forward looking team to provide day to day care to the diverse population of North Central and East London. There are also exciting opportunities to be involved in several 'patient experience initiatives and more formal audit and research projects.
There will be ample opportunity to further clinical and operative skills through exposure to a range of cases including complex reconstruction surgery and salvage surgery. There is a broad range of clinics for the post holder to gain exposure to from daily one stop clinics, routine follow up and oncoplastic clinics and of particular interest will be our family history clinic which is one of the few remaining such clinics in London.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will aim to deliver high quality care with the help of the existing surgical teams.
The post holder will participate in clinics, operating sessions and inpatient care for breast patients at Barts and will work with all the consultant staff.
The post holder will be involved in administrative duties such as management of investigation results and organising the theatre list and associated tasks.
The post holder will participate in case preparation and presentation at the weekly multidisciplinary team meeting (MDM)
The post holder will observe and comply with clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures (including local and national employment and personnel policies) agreed with employees and management.
The post holder will participate in the department's monthly audit sessions, including preparation and presentation of clinical audit projects.

Job responsibilities
The breast unit works long days Monday through Friday inclusive. There is no weekend or on call commitment.
We run several twilight theatre sessions each week that finish at 20:00 and the post holder will be expected to cover at least one of these lists a week. Time will be offered in lieu of this extended day.
Barts Health NHS Trust reserves the right to change the parameters of the standard working week, the number of hours additional duty you are required to undertake and the area in which you are required to undertake it, in the light of the requirements of the service.
Barts Health NHS Trust will endeavour to give as much advance notice as possible of such change. In the event of a change in the number of additional duty hours you are required to undertake your pay will be adjusted appropriately.
