- Job Title: Deputy Head of Resident Doctors – Critical Care
- Location: The Princess Grace Hospital
- Salary Range: £84,332 - £92,766 dependent upon experience
- Contract Type: Minimum 2-year commitment.
- Shifts/Pattern or work: 40hours per week
- (80%Clinical 20%Protected Management Time)
We have an exceptional career opportunity for Critical Care/ Anaesthetic trained & complex airways trained with a passion for leadership to join our Resident Doctors team at The Princess Grace Hospital, reporting to our Head of Resident Doctors.
This a fantastic opportunity to build partnerships with our private patient consultants, learn from specialist nurses and be part of critical care pathways, as directed by the named consultants. The Princess Grace Hospital and admits a vast range of complex cases. It’s a great team environment sharing specialist knowledge and experience. You as our Deputy Head will work clinical as the Resident Doctor expert and directly line manage a small team of Critical Care Doctors.
Your primary role
- This is a Consultant-Led organisation, and you will support by attending to the day-to-day Critical Care Ward and ITU units, medical care, from admission, planning through to dis-charge.
- Independently acting on medical care of inpatients, including clerking new planned and unplanned admissions, daily patient ward rounds, responding to medical needs and emergencies, Including airway management
- This will include workforce planning to the required patient to doctor ratios. Managing rotas ensuring staffing levels responsive to changes in patient census and patient needs.
- You will consistently strive for excellence at all times, providing guidance and support on potential new ways of working, improving efficiencies, Quality Improvement Projects or Increasing Patient Satisfaction opportunities. Audits, research and vast scope of standardising high-quality medical practices.
- You will lead on recruiting new Resident Doctors for permanent and temporary vacancies. Provide your new employees with a robust orientation and supervision. Utilising your Critical Care knowledge, you will provide mentorship, support and development
Successful applicants will need to be:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Bayes EMML Fellowship Programme; Executive Masters in Medical Leadership (EMML) or willingness to undertake the programme. Funded by HCA.
- 5 years' Critical Care/ Anaesthetic, medical training
- Royal College Membership post grade exams
- Experience required: Planning the clinical workforce, making provisions for clinical education. Supervising or training trainee doctors. Managing a diverse workforce and associated employee matters.
