Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential

• Entry on GMC Specialist Register or, be within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview or, provide GMC confirmed eligibility for entry on the Specialist Register.
• Fellowship of Royal College of Emergency (FRCEM) with CCT in PEM or CCT in Acute/General Paediatrics with substantial PEM experience or qualification of an equivalent level.
• Advanced Paediatric Life Support (or European Paediatric Advanced Life Support) and Advanced Trauma Life Support.

Desirable

• Postgraduate degree (or equivalent)
• ATLS/EPALS/APLS instructor status (at least one of these)

Previous Experience
Essential

• Broad range of experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine in particular: o Experience of a wide range of clinical procedures to carry out duties in an emergency. o Experience in day-to-day organisation of Paediatric emergency services
• Demonstrable experience in a Locum Consultant role
• Experience of supervising undergraduates, doctors in training and other colleagues
• Ability to offer and be accountable for full and independent expert diagnostic opinion
