Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Cardiologist – Interventional Cardiology)

About your opportunity:

Permanent part-time / up to 64 hours per fortnight / Location: Townsville.

The Staff Specialist will be expected to provide Interventional including Structural Heart Services and General Cardiology services to Townsville University Hospital and to outreach services provided by Townsville University Hospital.

What’s on offer:

• Generous remuneration package value up to $440,124 p.a. comprising:
• Salary range of $97.84 to $124.05 p.h. (L18 - L27)
• 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
• Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)
• Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a.
• Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave.

Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme: 

Eligible health workers who make the move to work with us may receive up to $70,000 in incentive payments under Scheme 2 of the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme (conditions apply).

Requirements:

• Possession of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) qualifications (or equivalent).
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College or Physicians (Cardiologist or equivalent). 
• Current registration as a Specialist Cardiologist with Medical Board of Australia. 
• Interventional Cardiology and Structural Interventional training consistent with Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand guidelines.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
• Probation period may apply.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
