We have a Locum Appointment in Service (LAS) position available in our Fareham CAMHS team. We are seeking a Doctor with a strong commitment to providing both physical and mental health treatment to patients seen by CAMHS, who may have a variety of acute and long term mental illnesses and comorbidities.
Main duties of the job
*Assessment and diagnosis
*Mental State Examination
*Physical health Examination
*Speaking to relatives and carers of patients and liaising with professional network, eg education, Children's Services
*Arranging appropriate referral to other disciplines
*Communication and team-working skills
*Engagement with multi-disciplinary team
*Regular presentation of full psychiatric cases either in the MDT or to Clinical Supervisor
*Learning opportunities available to work with the more complex and
challenging cases, including treatment resistance, comorbidity and high risk patients.
*Gain experience in report writing, summaries and letters.
*Develop understanding/competence in the use of the Mental Health Act.
*Gain experience in managing acute psychiatric emergencies.

The final combination of Southern Health and Solent NHS Trust services is expected in late 2024, when our new organisation, to be known as Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, will be formed.
Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.
Join us as we embark on this exciting journey to shape the future of healthcare in Hampshire.
