There is an established small bowel capsule endoscopy service and single balloon enteroscopy service, and a newly developed colon capsule service. The department alsoundertakes endoscopic ultrasound (radial and linear).

All of the equipment in the department is supplied by Olympus and was refurbished with state of the art equipment in January 2016. There has been further significant capital investment for new equipment in 2020. The department runs a JAG colonoscopy up-skilling course quarterly.
