Consultant Oncologists

Full and part-time roles and second disease sites welcomed

Want an Oncology role that excites you and grows your potential?

As one of the busiest and most successful NHS Foundation Trusts, we provide a full range of acute and community services to people in Sheffield and South Yorkshire, as well as specialist care to patients from across the UK. This is an exciting chance to join our team at Weston Park Cancer Centre – one of the UK’s leading cancer centres – as we look to grow and develop our non-surgical oncology services across South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire.

The hospital is home to busy inpatient and outpatient units, a chemotherapy day case unit, a large radiotherapy suite, and research centre. We also provide outpatient services within off-site clinical facilities and our neighbouring District General Hospital, as well as deliver SACT within five additional day case units across the region.

You’ll be joining a friendly, experienced consultant team, and we’re proud to be leaders in a well-established non-medical workforce to help support excellent patient care. This includes Consultant Nurses, Consultant Pharmacists, Consultant Radiographer, alongside advanced clinical roles in nursing, pharmacy and radiography.

With two leading universities, strong working relationships with our local Cancer Alliance and Weston Park Cancer Charity, we have an impressive track record of leading oncology transformation, clinical research and developing new care, treatments, and innovations for our patients.

Sheffield also offers a perfect mix of vibrant city life, culture spots, and beautiful outdoor spaces right on your doorstep – including the Peak District National Park. With excellent schools, transport links, and employment opportunities, it’s a lovely place to make your home and raise a family.

The role:

Consultant Oncologist (Clinical or Medical) in Acute Oncology x 1 second disease site to be mutually agreed with the post holder and Clinical Director

We are happy to consider both full and part-time positions, as well as job plan opportunities for a second cancer sub-site for those who want to maintain interest in other sub specialities.
