Job Details

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Ref: NR181643

We are looking for Consultant colleagues to join our friendly dynamic Acute Medicine team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The Acute Medicine Department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is based in the Emergency Care Centre
(ECC), which opened in December 2012. It includes areas for Initial Assessment (40 beds incorporating dedicated space for Same Day Emergency Care) and a 30 bedded Medical Short Stay Ward. All of which are managed completely by the Acute Medicine team. The ECC also houses the Emergency Department and most of the acute medical specialties including Critical Care across its 7 floors. It also includes dedicated diagnostic facilities and tube access to the hospital laboratory services.

We are looking for enthusiastic, innovative and dedicated individuals keen to add to our drive for continuous improvement to help us provide the best possible service to our patients. Particular areas of interest to the
department are the development of our Ambulatory Care Service in line with Local and National Strategies and the Redesign of Urgent Care. In addition the board is looking at developing Acute Medicine hospital at home and there
may be opportunities to get involved in this novel area of practice. Job plans will be tailored to the individual’s needs and desires where possible and those not wishing to work full time will be equally welcomed.
