Our aim is to play a key part in achieving Manx Care's vision of the Isle of Man becoming the best, small island-based health and care system in the world.

To help us achieve this vision, we are seeking to appoint a knowledgeable, driven and forward-thinking Consultant Paediatrician to join our supportive team at Noble’s Hospital!

About the role

The Noble’s Hospital Paediatric Department is a small but dynamic and forward thinking unit. There is a 17 bed Paediatric ward with 2 dedicated HDU beds and a 9 cot newly built ‘state of the art’ Neonatal Unit meeting all BAPM standards. We are a designated level 2 unit within the Merseyside/North West Network.

The Paediatric team has an excellent working relationship with Allied Health professionals (AHPs) who are based in the community with scheduled and ad-hoc attendance at Noble’s Hospital. We also have the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) which is a dedicated team located alongside Noble’s Hospital with Child Psychiatrists and a team of supporting therapists.

 We recognise the need for all medical staff on the Island to maintain connections with medicine in the United Kingdom and encourage links with other units, as well as providing study leave with pay and expenses to attend approved conferences and workshops.

✔ Ability to take an unpaid career break after 3 years’ service.

✔ Accommodation is available for the first 6 months in your role at a reduced rate for non-Island residents.

✔ A relocation package based on receipts is available for this role. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month. This role also qualifies for a recruitment incentive of £3,000, payable in the 1st, 13th, and 25th months of employment.
