Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Higher ST3-5/ST6+) in Diabetes and Endocrinology and General (Internal) Medicine at Addenbrooke’s hospital, to commence from as soon as possible to  03 Sep 2024.

This post provides an exciting opportunity to train with established specialist clinical teams in a world-leading academic centre, gaining experience of tertiary level diabetes, endocrinology and obesity.

Main duties of the job

Applicants require full MRCP (or equivalent) and endocrinology and diabetes experience at registrar level would be essential.  The post is particularly suitable for those who are planning a career in Diabetes/Endocrinology in an academic or teaching hospital environment.

The successful applicant will be based on the medical wards managed by the diabetes and endocrinology team, (currently Wards G3 and D7) supervising the care of the patients allocated to the care of the diabetes and endocrine team, reporting directly to the consultant of the week.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the junior members of the team.

There will be opportunities to attend afternoon speciality clinics, once ward work is completed.

Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
