We have an exciting opportunity for a consultant to work with us at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust as a community Paediatrician.

We are looking for a dedicated doctor ready to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation.


Your key responsibilities will be to: 

  • Conducting thorough assessments and examinations of children and adolescents to evaluate their physical health, growth, development, and emotional well-being. They diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions affecting children.
  • Monitoring developmental milestones and addressing developmental delays, learning difficulties, behavioural issues, and other developmental or neurological concerns in children.
  • Evaluating and managing mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and other behavioural or emotional issues in children and adolescents.
  • Managing chronic paediatric conditions such as asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, and other long-term illnesses, providing ongoing care, education, and support to patients and their families.
  • Providing guidance on preventive healthcare measures, immunizations, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices for children and adolescents. Educating families and communities about child health and safety.

Details about the roles: 

  • Speciality: Community Paediatrician
  • Location: East and North Hertfordshire
  • Shift patterns: 0900 – 1700, Monday to Friday (though may do admin for a Friday clinic on a Saturday).
  • Hours per week:  20-40 Hours
  • Start date:  ASAP
  • Pay rate: £100-£125 per hour (depending on experience).
  • Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies

This is a great opportunity to join Doctors Direct, which enables you to work in multiple Paediatric departments across the country full/part time and be paid great rates of pay.  Doctors Direct recruit to the highest of NHS standards and all candidates applying for this role must have the following: 

  • Valid GMC 
  • Right to work in the UK 
  • Clinical attachment complete and minimum of 3 months paid experience in the NHS/UK
