The Maternal Medicine Service at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a mixed secondary and tertiary service to Oxfordshire and a tertiary service as the Maternal Medicine Centre for the Thames Valley Maternal Medicine Network covering Bucks, East and West Berks, Northants, Wilts and adjacent parts of Warwickshire and Gloucestershire; total population is approaching 3 million. 

There are approximately 7,500 births per year throughout the Trust and approximately 40,000 births per year in the Thames Valley Network footprint.

Your duties will primarily be in the Women’s Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital. However, there may be clinic sessions at other units in the region. 

Candidates without formal training in Obstetric Medicine will be offered the opportunity to train on-the-job with formal training and assessment leading to a Credential in Obstetric Medicine awarded by the Royal College of Physicians.

The appointment is on a less than full time (0.8WTE) basis. Any person who is unable for personal reasons to work 0.8 WTE will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis, in consultation with consultant colleagues.  Suitably qualified job-share candidates will receive serious consideration.
