You will join a team of eleven gastroenterologists at West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust who enjoy working together and supporting each other.
You should be a dynamic, competent clinician and endoscopist with a CCT in gastroenterology and general medicine and experience working within the NHS. The Lead for the BCSP service is Dr Macfarlane. BCSP lists are currently performed by two consultant Gastroenterologists and two nurse endoscopists. We perform complex EMR for large polyps. A colon capsule service has recently been established and it is expected that this appointee will take on this service. There may be options to develop additional subspeciality interests in conjunction with departmental needs.
