We seek an enthusiastic, experienced team player to join our award-winning academic department to cover maternity leave for a period of 6 months from 3rd October 2023. The successful candidate will covering a HEE gap and joining a busy, thriving department that is forward looking and innovative. We are the sector leaders in many aspects of obstetric and gynaecology practice. Candidates must have 12 months or more registrar-level experience in UK obstetric practice. Please be aware our out of training clinical fellows are paid on the 2002 old contract.Main duties of the job
The fellow will join a busy and dynamic department comprising five consultant gynaecologists, three nurse specialists and a specialist midwife to develop advanced skills in the medical and operative management of pelvic floor disorders, incontinence, psychosexual medicine and diagnostic urology. Several urogynaecology, urodynamic, office cystoscopy and pelvic floor clinics are held each week. Support will be given to candidates wishing to complete the Urogynaecology & Vaginal Surgery ATSM and/or the Menopause ATSM.
The successful candidate will carry out clinical duties within all areas of the obstetrics and gynaecology department. When on call the post holder will be on the three-tier rota covering obstetrics and gynaecology in a 1:8 on out of hours call frequency as the Specialist Registrar. A Specialty Trainee ST3-7 and Speciality Trainee ST1-2 also cover out of hours alongside the Specialist Registrar.
It is expected that the successful candidate will undertake clinical audits and undertake quality improvement projects (QIP) under consultant supervision. The Chelsea Centre for Minimally Invasive Gynaecology is based in the department offering global training and tuition in endoscopic surgery, and successful candidates can join our courses, training and innovative programmes.

In addition to their clinical role the successful candidate will be expected to be actively involved in the organisation and coordination of the multiple minimal access training courses run within the department. They will perform this role in close collaboration with existing faculty.
