Full Time

Exceptional GP opportunity at our supportive Somerset practice. 7 sessions per week with an attractive and comprehensive remuneration package available.

Salary: Between £10,500 - £14,000 per session - based on experience and level of GP role undertaken in practice.

Burnham and Berrow Medical Centre is a large, well-established practice with an on-site pharmacy, which provides a wide range of services to around 15,000 patients. We are a friendly practice in a seaside town location and our transport links are great - The M5, Bristol Airport and train routes to London mean that Burnham-on-Sea is very conveniently located.

Burnham-on-Sea is ideally located within easy access to the Blackdown and the Mendip Hills both designated as Areas Of Natural Beauty, with a network of footpaths and byways for walking, mountain biking and horse riding. It is perfect for discovering the beauty of the beaches and coastal paths, and both sites are within 5-10 minutes walk of the beach.

Positioned on the edge of the Somerset levels, the town is home to one of the longest stretches of sandy beach in Europe and its iconic lighthouse. The town has retained much of its traditional charms and hosts a number of eateries, restaurants and shops.

Main duties of the job

You would undertake all the clinical duties associated with a GP working in primary care, without the responsibilities and risks associated with being a partner.

We can offer opportunities depending on your experience and the level of responsibility you wish to take on at the practice. Being able to contribute to areas such as QOF, QI, training and research projects provides a huge amount of variety to the role.

We encourage career development and progression and are keen to support GPs who wish to extend their role, or have specialist skills which can be utilised in primary care.

About us

A medical practice with a difference - Burnham & Berrow Medical Centre takes a fresh approach to supporting and interacting with the local community. A modern, friendly, open environment where teamwork is an absolute priority.

Key benefits

So that our staff achieve the life balance they deserve, and are rewarded for their skills and experience, and flourish as individuals, we offer:

  • flexible roles and working options
  • competitive rates of pay
  • NHS pension membership
  • support for those with specialist skills and experience
  • mentorship from experienced clinicians
  • close links to the wider Somerset integrated health system, Somerset LMC, SGPET and the Somerset Training Hub
