Applications are invited for the post of a full-time (10 PA) Locum Consultant in Clinical Oncology (Lung and Lymphoma) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to commence as soon as possible for 6 months.
This is a new post with the successful candidate joining the Cancer Directorate at Addenbrooke's Hospital, to support the Lung and Lymphoma Cancer Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team to help develop the existing service. Incorporating funded research time into the job plan will enable the successful candidate to expand the existing trials portfolio and design and recruit to original trials and studies.
Main duties of the job
The duties of this post include:
- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of Lung and Lymphoma cancers.
- Sharing with colleagues the responsibility for day-to-day management of the clinical service.
- Participating in complex radiotherapy planning treatment techniques.
- Delivery of systemic therapy.
- Recruitment to and active participation in clinical trials.
- Active role in the design of original clinical trials and studies.
- Supervision of undergraduates, junior doctors and other staff.
- Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings, ward rounds and on call commitments.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have CCT in Clinical Oncology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
