Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow (Core) in Oncology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to commence as soon as possible until 06 August 2024.
This post is particularly suitable for doctors who are contemplating a career in Oncology who wish to develop some experience in the management of solid tumours.
Main duties of the job
In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification and have:
- Evidence of current employment in a UKFPO affiliated Foundation Programme or at least 12 months experience after full GMC registration or equivalent.
- Completed their Foundation Competencies.
- A minimum 18 months basic medical training.
- Experience working in the NHS.
- Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application.
Please note that this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.
This post may be suitable for those wishing to undertake an “F3” role.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The duties of this post will include the day to day care and management of inpatients receiving chemotherapy, radiotherapy and palliative care. There will also be opportunity to see outpatients, participate in multi-disciplinary clinics for the management of solid tumours and gain experience of Acute Oncology, radiotherapy and to participate in research and audit projects.
