Applications are invited for the position of substantive Consultant General Anaesthetist to join the existing team of 67 Consultant Anaesthetists. A standard full time job plan will have minimum of 10 PAs which includes a minimum of 1.5 SPA time. There are 3 posts.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a University Teaching Hospital with 1293 beds and an annual budget of around £500 million. The Trust supports a variety of tertiary services and is both a Major Cancer Centre and accredited tertiary trauma centre.

The package includes recruitment and retention premia of £20,000 which will be paid in 2 equal instalments of £ 10,000 each. The first instalment of £10000 will be paid in the 13^th Month salary and the second instalment will be paid in the 25^th month salary after commencement of the post. There is also up to £8000 relocation allowance on provision of the relevant expense receipts.

These are 3 new posts to support the service expansion in the Surgical Health Group. The Consultant Anaesthetist will provide Anaesthetic services at both Trust sites, Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. The Consultant Anaesthetist will also provide on call cover for CEPOD Theatres in Hull Royal Infirmary at 1 in 18 which has potential to become 1 in 20.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be providing anaesthesia services to tertiary hospital specialities including but not limited to neurosurgery, vascular surgery, GI surgery, urology ,Robotic surgery, ENT/oral maxillofacial surgery, trauma and CEPOD theatres. The flexible theatre sessions will include anaesthetic cover for acute and elective surgery on both sites of the Trust at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital.
