This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Clinical Fellow to join our Vascular Surgery team here at UHCW. The successful candidate will be supported to achieve CCT as appropriate. Previous Experience of vascular surgery is essential.

We are a busy major trauma centre serving a population of 1.2 million. Our vascular unit covers the spoke hospitals of Warwick and George Eliot with all arterial work centralised to UHCW. We have a surgically led EVAR service with an active complex aortic programme (Fenestrated EVAR, TEVAR). We work closely with our cardiac surgeons and have monthly complex aortic MDTs. We also have an active research programme and teach Warwick Medical Students as well as postgraduate doctors.

Main duties of the job

You will:

  • Admit and review patients in the Emergency Department
  • Support the team in theatre sessions, with some independent work
  • Support the team for Outpatients clinics and follow up
  • Participate in clinical audit within the Unit
  • Have opportunities to engage in clinical research
  • Be actively involved in the training and supervision of Junior Medical Staff and medical students on ward rounds, in theatre and in clinics.
  • Mentor and teach junior staff (SHOs)
