Consultant Geriatrician Integrated Care Pathway

50;50 Portiuncula Hospital and Community Health Care West 2 (Permanent Post)

Salary (€214,113 - €257,193) based on experience public only consultant contract additional allowances are paid for on call and education as per 2023 contract.

Location: based at Portiuncula University Hospital, Ballinasloe, Co Galway, Ireland.

Must be registered or eligible for registration on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council

Portiuncula University Hospital (PUH) is part of the Saolta University Hospital Group it is a Model 3 hospital operating an Emergency Department (ED) with over 30,000 ED attendances per year. PUH provides acute Surgery, Medicine, Critical Care, Day Care Oncology, Maternity, Neonatal and Paediatric services. 

PUH is a teaching hospital for Medical, Nursing, Health and Social Care Professionals. PUH facilitates a variety of undergraduate students on placement from UG, UL, TUS, ATU and UCD. It has medical training schemes for Interns, SHO’s and Specialist Registrars. Medical student at undergraduate and graduate entry are on placement from Galway University and University of Limerick.
