Alexandra Surgery Wimbledon is looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active and compassionate full-time Band 7 Physician Associate with at least one years experience in General Practicesince qualification as a PA to work alongside our experienced team of GPs, HCA, Practice Nurses, Paramedics, Physiotherapist and other allied healthcare professionals. You must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively, exercise excellent clinical and professional judgement at all times, and know when to ask for help.
Main duties of the job
Triage of daily emergency list making use of the full resource of nhs services and healthcare professionals
Clinical sessions consisting of phone and face to face appointments to include history taking, diagnosis, assessment and treatment, and follow up where necessary
Referring patients using correct pathways
Management of patients with chronic disease
Acting upon QOF alerts and system reminders during consultations in order to provide the very best of patient care as well as meeting practice targets
Provision of healthcare education and advice
Home visits for both acute and chronic conditions
Review of in-coming pathology results and clinical letters

Based in the heart of leafy Wimbledon, South-West London with all amenities and excellent British Rail, Bus and underground connections, we are a relatively small practice of approximately 6,000 patients with a mixed demographic. This will give you exposure from day 1 to a wide range of social, physical and mental health issues, and enable you to quickly build on your knowledge and experience. We have an in-house physiotherapist service, mental health practitioner, pharmacist and social prescriber. Alexandra Surgery is part of a primary care network of surgeries within the South West London Health and Care partnership with world-class teaching hospitals on our doorstep.
The successful candidate will join a well-established team of experienced healthcare professionals and administrators with a very low staff turnover and a non-hierarchical and mutually-respectful working culture. We hold regular whole practice and clinical meetings during which we actively encourage the input of all staff. You will benefit from the full support and supervision of our two approachable senior partners who are both GP trainers, generous with their time and knowledge, and committed to establishing a new model for general practice. Alexandra Surgery has previously worked successfully with Physician Associates as part of the St Georges degree programme.

Full-time contact with fixed hours Mon-Fri* (no rotas) and the flexibility of spreading your hours over four or five days to suit your needs
6 weeks paid leave annually - plus bank holidays
On-site parking
* You may be asked to work in one or two paid weekend clinics annually, but this will be entirely optional and supplementary to your normal working pattern

- Postgraduate Diploma/Master in Physician Associate from an accredited UK University.
- Registration with the UK Managed Voluntary Registry for Physician Associates.
- A minimum of one year's experience post-graduation within a GP Surgery.
- Must already have the right to work in the UK.
