We are seeking to appoint a knowledgeable, driven and supportive Consultant Cardiologist to take up this joint post between Noble's Hospital and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (LHCH).
If you are passionate about delivering high quality care and would enjoy working with us to develop our services, this could be a great position for you!
About the role and our team
Noble’s Hospital is the Island’s only District General Hospital, situated on the outskirts of Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man. It is equipped to the very latest standards with a total complement of 214 beds, and there is also a cottage hospital in the north of the Island, where some Consultant clinical sessions are held and where there is a nurse-led minor injuries unit.
Our vision is to become the best small island-based health and care system and this position has the potential to expand to accommodate subspecialty interests, for example, permanent pacemaker implantation and management of cardiac devices.
You will be supported by a well-developed Cardiorespiratory Physiology Department which performs around 4,000 outpatient and inpatient echocardiograms, 2,000 pacemaker reviews, and 2,500 cardiac physiology tests including ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitoring.
We are looking to set a consistent standard of Consultant cover, so you will support the service through outpatient clinics, ward cover and in-reach to ED and medical patients.
You'll also benefit from the great links we have with tertiary centres in the UK and the state of the art video conferencing for MDT purposes.
Visits to the hospital are welcomed from interested candidates; please contact Marc Jubb on 01624 650763 or email Marc.Jubb@nobles.dhss.gov.im.
What can this role offer me?
By joining us you’ll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.
The department is academically active, affording reputational benefits to the organisation; research, innovation and service development activities are strongly encouraged and supported.
We strongly encourage personal and professional development and you will have access to our in-house Education and Training Centre with a simulation suite and library. Manx Care recognises the need for all medical staff on the Island to maintain connections with medicine in the United Kingdom, and we provide generous study Leave with pay and expenses to attend approved conferences and workshops.
