About the role:
The Handbury Foundation Respiratory Long COVID Fellow is a unique and exciting opportunity to become a specialist clinician researcher in the field of post infectious sequelae related to SARS-CoV2. The successful applicant will receive a generous salary to become a member of the leading Long COVID clinics in the country, St Vincent's Hospital. They will have the opportunity to complete a higher degree (Masters or PhD) under the guidance of established researchers as well as better understanding this fascinating and debilitating chronic health condition that causes respiratory, sleep, neurological and immunological dysfunction. The primary focus of this position will be the Long COVID service of St Vincent’s hospital and the provision of outpatient and occasionally inpatient care of patients with suspected or confirmed “Long COVID”. The complex and multi-system nature of this new disease requires comprehensive assessments and investigation with a collaborative approach to patient care across a range of medical and allied health disciplines.

The recruitment of suitable patients to clinical trials and research activities is a unique opportunity for the Handbury Foundation Respiratory Long COVID Fellow. There are many exciting opportunities to participate in clinical and laboratory research with leading researchers of the SVH precinct that includes the Garvan Institute, Victor Chang, Kirby Institute as well as Heart and Lung transplantation. It is expected that the successful candidate will formalise their research into a Masters or PhD (preferred) through the University of New South Wales.

- Excellent communication and English language skills
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
