Worcestershire – Where Our People Matter
Consultant Acute Medicine with Special interest
Reference – C9365-23-0827-1
Times are changing in Worcestershire. We are looking for passionate, committed clinicians to help us grow and expand our Acute Medicine service across the county and deliver real change for our patients. We appreciate the value, expertise and importance that Acute Medicine Physicians bring to the patient journey and are looking for people to help us bring real transformative and innovative change to our Trust.
You will be joining our team at a truly exciting time for Worcestershire with the launch of our multi-million pound Urgent and Emergency Care development on the Worcestershire Royal Hospital site. This will bring the Acute Medicine and Emergency Medicine footprint under one roof, and bring our front-door teams closer together. A new 28-bedded AMU, and SDEC area capable of caring for 18 patients on chairs and 12 patients on trolleys has already opened and is providing an improved experience for patients.
We are looking for Acute Medicine Specialists who have an interest in developing the service, and raising the profile of Acute Medicine in Worcestershire. We want to be the employer of choice and have an ab-solute desire to help build the next generation of doctors and leaders. Whether you have interests in POCUS, frailty, education & development, leadership or digital innovation, we are searching for like-minded people to join our team.
We are also able to offer dedicated sessions within certain specialities for anyone wanting to focus on Acute Medicine, but also maintain their skills in another speciality – there is scope for creating a job plan that helps our service but also looks at helping you build your portfolio and career. We want to develop leaders of the future and will provide opportunity to undertake our improvement and leaderhip training in partnership with the Virginia Mason Institute.
Worcestershire is a large county that allows easy access to the calm tranquillity of the Malvern Hills and the hustle-and-bustle of Birmingham City Centre. You could be a short distance away from beautiful countryside for outdoor pursuits, or a short distance away from dining at Michel-in-starred restaurants or visiting the many theatres, museums and music venues of Birmingham.
Nearby towns such as Bromsgrove have schools rated as being Outstanding by Ofsted for those who are already raising young families, or those who are just about to embark on that lifelong journey.
Worcestershire is where our people matter – our people are our patients, and the members of our teams that look after them. Please feel free to get in touch with our Clinical Director Dr David Brocklebank, Clinical Lead for Worcester Dr Sabs Moolla or Divisional Director for Urgent Care Dr David Raven.
