Worcestershire – Where Our People Matter
Consultant Acute Medicine SDEC Lead
Reference – C9365-23-7420-1
Times are changing in Worcestershire. We are looking for a passionate, and committed clinicians to lead our Acute Medicine Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) service across the county. We see the real benefit in providing high-quality care delivered through a non-traditional setting. Our brand new multi-million Urgent and Emergency Care Development on the Worcestershire Royal Hospital is looking for someone to help us transform the patient journey.
We appreciate the value, expertise and importance that Acute Medicine Physicians bring to our service. You will be joining an established team of fellow Consultant colleagues, Trainees, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Nursing staff in setting the direction for Same Day Emergency Care across Worcestershire.
The SDEC area is located next to our 28-bedded AMU and above our new Emergency Department. With a separate entrance, for patients arriving by ambulance, the area is capable of accommodating 12 patients on trolleys and up to 18 patients on chairs. With its own procedure room, offices, shared seminar room and staff facilities with AMU, and a co-located Frailty SDEC area, we have everything in store for revolutionising how we practice Acute Medicine. You will have the support of the Urgent Care Divisional Team to innovate and try new ideas and ways of working.
We are looking for Acute Medicine Specialists who have an interest in developing the service, the team, and our profile on a local, regional and national scale. We want to be the employer of choice and have an absolute desire to help build the next generation of doctors and leaders. Joining us, you will have the opportunity to undertake our improvement and leadership training in partnership with the Virginia Mason Institute.
Worcestershire is a large county that allows easy access to the calm tranquillity of the Malvern Hills and the hustle-and-bustle of Birmingham City Centre. You could be a short distance away from beautiful countryside for outdoor pursuits, or a short distance away from dining at Michel-in-starred restaurants or visiting the many theatres, museums and music venues of Birmingham.
Nearby towns such as Bromsgrove have schools rated as being Outstanding by Ofsted for those who are already raising young families, or those who are just about to embark on that lifelong journey.
Worcestershire is where our people matter – our people are our patients, and the members of our teams that look after them. Please feel free to get in touch with our Clinical Director Dr David Brocklebank, Clinical Lead for Worcester Dr Sabs Moolla or Divisional Director for Ur-gent Care Dr David Raven
