We have a Specialty Doctor opportunity in our Bath and North East Somerset CAMHS team.. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centred approach to their independence and well-being. You will have clinical leadership opportunities to develop services across the patch and medical education/ supervision.

 

 

Main duties of the job

 

As a Specialty Doctor in the team you will join a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality care to young people and families in the Melksham area as part of the CAMHS Getting More Help Team

We deliver the i-Thrive model across BSW, including Mental Health Support Teams in schools and In-Reach services to Social Care. Oxford Health hosts the Thames Valley Provider Collaborative and Forensic CAMHS. Our CAMHS Eating Disorders Service is accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and was the regional pilot site for the national ARFID project. We work closely with our BSW ICB, Local Authorities, NHS providers and Third Sector Partners to transform services for young people up to 25.

Job responsibilities

 

The Specialty Doctor Psychiatrist will be based in Melksham Community CAMHS, undertaking assessments and providing treatment for young people and working with patients and their families. The specialty doctor is expected to work closely with other members of the team and to provide a range of assessment and treatment services

Person Specification

Qualifications & Academic Achievements

Essential

  • Qualified medical practitioner
  • oFull GMC registration by time of appointment

Desirable

  • oSection 12 approval MHS
  • oMRCPsych or equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists' Guidelines)

Training

Essential

  • oShall have completed at least four years full time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty
  • oShall have equivalent experiences and competencies

Desirable

  • oEvidence of participation in or enthusiasm for audit
  • oExperience of child and adolescent psychiatry
