Divisional Clinical Director for Surgery-Consultants pay Salary or Band 9 AFC

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the senior leadership team at Kettering General Hospital (KGH) as Divisional Clinical Director for the Surgery Division. You will be either a senior medical clinician or clinician, who can demonstrate a successful track record of managing teams and service change with the ability to work across boundaries. The role attracts up to 5 PAs for the leadership element of this role. The trust will provide other clinical work, either Research, Academic or clinical sessions to make the job plan up to 10 PAs or full time equivalent.

You will be a key member of the Trust's leadership team, with responsibility for leading the Surgery division, driving improvements across all aspects of KGH. The role will provide many opportunities to make a difference for our staff and patients and we will give you our full support.

Educations, Training & Qualifications
Essential
  • Postgraduate Degree or equivalent level
  • Further evidence of management/leadership training and continuous professional development
  • Clinical Registration - GMC, NMC, HCPC or GPC Etc
Desirable
  • Relevant Postgraduate qualification in a management discipline

Knowledge & Experience
Essential
  • Extensive experience at a senior level in a complex environment, including a sound understanding of the performance and governance requirements of the NHS
  • Experience of holding senior clinicians to account for standards of care
  • Extensive operational experience in an acute environment
  • Experience of Managing regulatory inspections
  • Experience of undertaking work requiring intense concentration in unpredictable circumstances with frequent interruptions
  • Significant track record of achievement as a leader which demonstrates significant successes through innovation and a strong but sensitive style, which contributes directly to the patient experience and continuous improvement.
  • Strong evidence of a collaborative management style coupled with improving quality of service provision at a strategic level
  • In-depth and up to date knowledge of national developments and active involvement in local and national networks
