CONSULTANT IN OPHTHALMOLOGY (Medical Retina) 

Full Time

Applications are invited to apply for a consultant post to support our Medical Retinal Service. Uveitis experience is desirable but not essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Ophthalmology team as we look to expand our retinal service. As well as developing the retinal service, you will help us manage and deliver our general elective workload including regular cataract surgery.  

We provide a countywide service from dedicated Ophthalmic units comprising theatres at Worcestershire Royal, Kidderminster Treatment Centre as well as at Alexandra Hospital. Our outpatient facilities are at our acute sites at Worcester & Kidderminster as well as at Princess of Wales Community Hospital at Bromsgrove which has also got a large diagnostic hub for glaucoma & retinal patients. The department benefits from a comprehensive support team including Specialty Doctors and Associate Specialists, Orthoptists, Optometrists, Nurses including of an  excellent team of medical retina & glaucoma Nurse Practitioners. Our department are equipped with YAG, PASCAL & SLT  Lasers, Heidelberg Spectralis OCT’s with OCT Angiography,  Fluorescein & ICG angiography and OPTOS imaging.  

Applicants should have knowledge, skill and clinical experience in Medical Retina. The appointee will participate in a 1 in 14 on-call Rota.
