This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant to join the Interventional Neuroradiology team. The successful applicant will provide specialist interventional and diagnostic neuroradiology cover and multi-disciplinary meetings (MDTs). We are looking for flexible candidates who will support and meet service needs.

Our Interventional Neuroradiology service supports the major trauma centre work, neurovascular neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, skull-base neurosurgery and stroke and has already introduced thrombectomy on an ad hoc basis for Coventry and Warwickshire patients. Our Neuroradiology team boasts an annual reporting volume with Neuro CT numbers of over 25,000 a year and Neuro MR over 35,000 a year, mixing from emergency, inpatient and outpatient work.
Main duties of the job

You will:

 

  • Provide a consultation and advisory service to other clinical colleagues in other specialties within the Trust and Primary Care.
  • Provide, and develop further with clinical colleagues neuroradiology including emergency neuroradiology, in line with the expectations of the Group and Trust.
  • Take responsibility for the professional supervision and development of trainee doctors within the specialty.
  • Develop and maintain good communications with General Practitioners and appropriate external agencies.
  • Demonstrate a firm involvement in Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Clinical Audit.
  • Comply with all relevant Trust Policies and Procedures.
