To undertake the duties of a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Knowsley Borough Later Life and Memory Services and Old Age Liaison Psychiatry Services.

Later Life and Memory Services provide assessment and management of cognitive impairment in older adults in community settings.

The Liaison Service is an ageless service and operates from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday, covering St Helens and Knowsley Boroughs.

Main duties of the job

  • Regular formal ward reviews, throughout the week, including discharge planning
  • Attendance at Case Conferences, CPA and Section 117 reviews as required.
  • Liaison clinics
  • Administration, audit and training as appropriate.
  • Attendance at Continuing Professional Development meetings and mandatory training events.
  • Mental Health Tribunal attendance

Qualifications
Essential
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
Eligibility
Essential
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Old Age Psychiatry, OR within six months.
  • Approved Clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment
