We are looking to appoint a high quality person to join a busy and innovative team of Consultants. As a department we have clear goals to increase our profile in Clinical and Academic Urology. The appointment of this Consultant post would supplement the workload of existing Consultants in core Urology. Particular service priorities are prostate cancer diagnostics, functional and paediatric urology. The job can be tailored depending on the interests and expertise of an excellent candidate.

A role in the Prostate cancer service would involve working closely with the rest of the team not only in diagnostics but also, we anticipate, as a trial centre for the PART study, including within that trial the delivery of HIFU and electroporation as focal treatment for prostate cancer.
Main duties of the job

The post offered is for a Consultant Urological Surgeon with 10 programmed activities. These sessions will be wherever the Trust delivers its services but the majority of the work will be at Wexham Park and Heatherwood Hospital.

With an increased demand for meeting targets with respect to Urological cancers and non-cancer work, the appointees' role will be to mainly provide support to diagnostic and therapeutic core urology. The successful applicant will be expected to and indeed encouraged to develop his/her sub-specialist interest with opportunities in most benign fields including paediatric and functional urology. The trust has an excellent reputation in promoting the development of new and innovative services.
