Applications are invited for a substantive Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with an interest in termination services. You will join the existing team of consultants providing routine elective and emergency cover across both obstetrics and gynaecology. In addition, you will be able to lead our termination of pregnancy and contraceptive services for women and help us to deliver outstanding care to our women and wider health team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will participate in the Obstetric hot week consultant rota.
There will be a 1:12 on call with prospective cover.
The post attracts 10 PAs (8.5 DCC, 1.5 SPAs)
Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology consists of an integral maternity and gynaecology unit on a single site, based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Inpatients are based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, while clinics are held at Princess Alexandra Hospital, St Margaret's Hospital (Epping) and Herts & Essex Hospital, (Bishop's Stortford).

They will need to work closely with our transformation team to deliver the required changes and lead us on our journey to providing outstanding services. Whilst full participation in the acute gynaecology service forms a key part of this role, should extra support be required initially for gynaecology operating, this can be agreed and provided.

- Full GMC registration o Relevant CCT or equivalent (to be confirmed by GMC o Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
