The Greater Manchester Training Hub (GMTH) is looking for an experienced Physician Associate and Clinical Educator to support the co-ordination, design and delivery of the N2PC GP Ready Programmes across GM including providing relevant training. This role focuses on, but is not limited to, the New to Primary Care (N2PC) GP Ready Programme. The N2PC GP Ready Programme is open to all colleagues who are new to primary care, but there will be focused clinical learning for a number of professionals including ACPs, ANPs, PAs, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and FCPs.
The principles and aims of the N2PC GP Ready Programme are as follows:
To support new professionals in primary care, providing an understanding of general practice, enabling the professional to become a fully integrated and utilised member of the team.
To provide clinical teaching and knowledge
To provide or facilitate peer support and/or mentorship
This post would suit a highly motivated and innovative individual with an ability to influence, engage and challenge with integrity and credibility. We are looking for a candidate with excellent organisational, educational and leadership skills who has the ability to help to develop the GMTH training programmes to full potential and secure sustainability. The post holder will need to be an experienced clinician and trainer with a sound understanding of the primary care workforce educational needs.
Main duties of the job
The role will include but not be limited to the below:
Work closely with the Project Manager, other clinical educators, clinical lead and relevant stakeholders to establish, develop and deliver a N2PC clinical educational programme.
Work with appropriate professional standards and curricula to develop a rolling educational programme.
To focus on the development of a programme of learning for Physician Associates that are on the N2PC GP Ready Programme.
Using sound educational methods, develop an educational and training programme to enhance competence and confidence in delivery of general practice.
Develop a standardised training programme including policies and procedures.
Promote a clinical reasoning approach to enhance educational delivery.
Evaluate feedback from the training programme and ensure quality assurance.
Contribute to the preparation and on-going development of classes.
Work with other local educators and local university faculties to deliver best practice in educational delivery and training programme planning.
Use a wide variety of delivery methods to ensure health and safety compliance.
