Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Consultant Renal Physician to join our team. The team provides a full service for the management of acute and chronic renal disease to most of the central region of New Zealand (Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District and Wairarapa District), as well as home dialysis services to Nelson/Marlborough District.

This includes outpatient consultations, inpatient services,renal transplant services and a thorough pre-dialysis service. The service is an acute transplant unit undertaking roughly 35 transplants per year. The service maintains a strong focus and commitment to home based dialysis, both peritoneal and haemodialysis. Satellite centres are located at Kenepuru and Hutt Valley. The Incentre dialysis unit at Wellington hospital services the increasing demand for assisted haemodialysis.

Outpatient clinics are provided at Wellington, Hutt, Kenepuru and Wairarapa Hospitals as well as Kapiti and Greytown health centres.

Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley Renal Services team boasts a dynamic and diverse team who work closely together in a strong collegial environment. We have a strong focus on a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care and are committed to achieving the best possible outcomes.

Moū - About you:

  • Vocationally registered in Internal Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
  • FRACP or equivalent to be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
  • Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
  • Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
  • Relevant experience and training
