Main duties of the job

We are passionate about providing the best possible service to our Patients and have recently developed a new On the day Team approach, which consists of a GP, ANPs, Paramedic and a Nursing Team Member, all working together in a duty hub. We also have Planned Care sessions, which typically consist of 25 contacts across the day, with blocks of time to book in any patients that need examining, complete admin tasks and daily coffee breaks, giving autonomy to the GP on how they run their day.

About us

We are based in a purpose-built Practice overlooking the sea in the fishing town of Brixham, with a growing list size of 15,000+ patients. You will be joining an expanding, supportive and friendly multi-disciplined team, which includes GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Paramedics and Social Prescribers. We also have a branch site in the neighbouring village of Galmpton and have just opened a newly, renovated wing at Brixham Hospital.

Providing health services to the diverse community of Brixham and surrounding areas of Kingswear, Churston, Galmpton, and outskirts of Paignton, we strive to provide high quality care and innovative clinical excellence, as well as providing GP Ward Care at Brixham Hospital.

Our Clinical Pharmacy Team manages medication changes, queries, and reviews, along with repeat prescriptions. Our Patient Care Advisors are trained in Health Navigation to best direct Patients to the most appropriate care, whilst our Admin Team have streamlined processes to reduce GP workloads. Our Paramedic carries out most home visits, and we have a highly experienced Nursing Team consisting of RGNs, APs, Nursing Associates, HCAs, and Phlebotomists who run our Chronic Disease Clinics.

Working collaboratively with two other Torbay Surgeries, we form part of the Baywide PCN, alongside working with GP Surgeries in the wider Bay area as part of Torbay General Practice, providing additional services such as Care Home Visiting, Improved Accessed, and COVID vaccinations.
