Applications are welcomed by NHS Tayside for a Fixed Term Orthopaedic Medical Clinical Fellow to improve the care of acute medical adult trauma and orthopaedic patients.

The post will be based at Ninewells Hospital and will commence 2nd August 2023 and is for 12 months in the first instance

This post is suitable for candidates who have completed foundation training and have experience working in an acute medical setting potentially having undertaken IMT training, or equivalent, and who wish to gain further clinical experience before committing to starting Higher Speciality training or Specialty doctor roles. Those with MRCP(UK) will also be looked on favourably.

The post will involve weekday cover within orthopaedics with senior medical support and educational opportunities provided by the General Medical Team. While this post is for weekday cover only if the successful candidate wished to participate in out of hours work this can be considered

This post provides an excellent opportunity to be involved in a significant quality improvement programme, whilst increasing clinical experience in acute and general medical presentations prior to starting Higher Specialty training or other career pathways.

POST INCLUDES;

  • protected development time of up to a half day per week study leave of 20 days per year a study budget of £500 per year a named Medicine and Orthopaedic mentor regular ward based departmental educational meetings
